After the summer and fall fairs, we continued to hold pro-life signs weekly or biweekly, now into our third year. Signs are powerful and elicit responses, always about 90% supportive. We just pray that some babies are being saved and good decisions made.
As a group, we also delivered Christmas gifts to Father Terry homes for pregnant and parenting women in Salem and attended the ORTL Portland rally and the St. John Life Chain this winter.
In February, a month of hearts and love, we held a Meet and Greet called “Changing Hearts”. In an atmosphere of valentines, flowers, food, and beautiful music, people mingled and enjoyed bidding on the items in the silent auction. Towards the end of the event two girls from the Father Terry homes spoke. The noise ceased, and these girls had the full attention of the audience. The first girl was fourteen, holding her two-year-old son. She told a story both of sadness and of great hope for the future. The second girl was two days away from delivering a baby girl. The local help that goes forth from the Father Terry homes protects not only the babies but also the parents, as was plain to see from these two young speakers.
