Dear Editor,

We live in an age of great concern for our health. Then why would someone do something that has the potential risks of breast cancer, uterine perforation, bowel perforation, sterility, psychological problems, depression, and even suicide? …Abortion mills are usually not subject to the same scrutiny and standards as other clinics and hospitals. In many states, the abortionist doesn’t even have to be a doctor! If you were going to have a surgical procedure, wouldn’t you want the cleanest, most knowledgeable hospital and doctor and staff? Or would you settle for whatever came along? …Abortion does not liberate women; it makes them the second victim in a ghastly procedure that ends in the death of a child.

Dear Editor,

A young woman who chose to go to Planned Parenthood for advice on an unintended, unplanned, unwanted, pregnancy was told, “No one needs to know.” One wonders, if something is the right thing to do, then why the secrecy? But the mother knows, even if the secret is kept, which is rare. She will be able to replay what the counselor said, what she herself shared, what was recommended, the smells, the sounds, the sights, the atmosphere, the personnel, and most of all, her unborn—the baby she never held, comforted, played with, bathed, taught, or raised. She will wonder what the face looked like that she never saw, the voice she never heard, the young adult that will never be. She will miss the love of a lifetime that a child has to offer.

Dear Editor,

As we remember another year since Roe v Wade legalized abortion in this country, it is appropriate to consider how far we have fallen as a nation. We have killed 51 million unborn children; and we continue to eliminate one every twenty-six seconds. Never before in history has a country slaughtered millions of defenseless unborn children for convenience and called it a “right.” Never before has the intentional, premeditated termination of human life been called a “private matter.” And never before has poisoning, dismemberment, vivisection without anesthetics, or any torture and killing of babies not been called child abuse. This is a shameful record for a nation which once declared life to be an “unalienable right”.
